So my mother likes all those ice creamy boozy beverages like Mudslides, Kahlua & Ice Cream, Bailey’s & Ice Cream… pretty much anything with ice cream. Not particularly my thing as it is pretty heavy, so I went about finding a non-ice cream based beverage that packs the flavor profile she likes. Of course it does not hurt that it includes Girl Scout Cookie Thin Mints!
Ingredients:
- 1oz (30ml) Crème De Cacao
- 1oz (30ml) Crème De Menthe
- .75oz (22ml) Heavy Cream
- .75oz (22ml) Brandy
- Barspoon .035oz (2.5ml) to .25oz (7.5ml) Fernet Branca – I lean toward the heavier side
- Garnish: Mint Sprig
- Garnish: Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookie (If in Season! I keep a stash in the freezer!) or Dark Chocolate
Directions:
- Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
- Fill with ice and shake vigorously until outside of shaker is frosty, about 30 seconds.
- Strain into a Nick & Nora glass (My current favorite and apparently my mothers now! I now have a future gift!)
- Garnish with a sprig of mint
- Garnish your drink by grating a thin mint cookie over the top and eat the other half! You deserve it; however you can do dark chocolate if you would prefer.
